Letting Our Light Shine: The Blessing of Christian Education

Israel Wayne, in his book, Education: Does God Have an Opinion states that, “The purpose of education is to know our Creator…It is to teach us about the nature of God.” (Wayne 13). Christian education not only strives to teach children to know God first and foremost, but it also prepares them to serve Him in whatever capacity He would have them serve him as they grow up. To this end, in Christian education, there is often a focus on developing a solid foundation of academics to prepare students for effective service for the Lord in a variety of occupations.

At UBCA, we use a time tested, rigorous curriculum to lay the foundation of academics. Our very youngest students learn to read through a step by step phonics program. They are guided along in each grade level to develop a solid foundation in math. Proverbs 1:5 encourages the wise to hear and to add to their learning. Traditional, Christian education fosters knowledge through this step by step learning. As you go through your day today, take a moment to thank the Lord that we have the freedom to teach from a Christian worldview and to focus on traditional, Christian education.
