For those of us who have dedicated our lives to Christian education, there's always been this deep-rooted conviction that it has the power to truly transform students’ lives. We’ve witnessed it firsthand: the way it shapes character, cultivates faith, and prepares students for life beyond the classroom. But, up until 2011, there wasn’t much hard data to support these heartfelt beliefs. That all changed when a game-changing study was conducted.

“This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.” One may recognize the words to this familiar song. Today, as I walked through the halls, I heard the words of this song being sung so loudly that they echoed down the hallway. Our staff often reflect on the fact that one of the things that makes UBCA so unique is the freedom that we enjoy to open every single one of our days with prayer, worship to the Lord, and a lesson from God’s Word.
In a world dominated by screens and keyboards, is handwriting still important? Science says YES! Research shows that writing by hand strengthens memory, improves comprehension, and enhances fine motor skills in young learners. Even more fascinating — students who write in cursive activate brain regions linked to creativity, language processing, and critical thinking, giving them a lifelong advantage.
What is the value of an excellent Christian education?
We understand that Christian education is a significant financial commitment, and we, the UBCA School Board and staff, deeply appreciate the trust you place in us. But beyond the cost, there is the call to “train up a child” (Proverbs 22:6), a responsibility we take to heart. At UBCA, we partner with families in this important journey in four meaningful ways.
